Practicing Friendship

Friendships matter.

And it seems like meaningful friendships — often already an uphill battle — have, if anything, seem that much more elusive in the Covid era. This year, when we have chosen to keep extra distance from one another for the good of our own health for the health of our loved ones, for our communities, nation, and world, it is important for us to start off 2021 with a reaffirmation of the value of friendship.

We’re calling this Practicing Friendship. “Practicing” seems a perfect word because it’s gracious. It communicates that we are all still getting better at friendship and that it takes some work. It also means that sometimes we don’t get it right and we’ll have to ask for forgiveness or maybe even start over in some areas.

Decide to grow in your friendships in 2021 — friendship with others and friendship with God.
