Cross Cultural Team

A group of seven Covenant Women, traveling under the Cross Cultural Opportunities program of Women Ministries, spent one week visiting our Covenant missionaries and Japan Covenant Churches from May 11-19. Promotional material on the Women Ministries website stated that “The purpose of these trips is to provide women an opportunity to use their unique gifts in a cross cultural ministry while connecting with team members from across the denomination.”

This particular team focused on prayer and cultural experiences. During their stay they visited each of our mission families and spent time learning about our work and praying for our ministry and personal needs. The PACE (Prayer and Cultural Experience) group arrived in Kuki on Saturday afternoon and spent the next two days with our International Bible Fellowship and Kuki Grace Church congregations.

Jay & Ellen Haworth

Vol.16 No. 1 February 28, 2008

The Apostle Paul often began letters to churches with deep appreciation for their partnership in the Gospel and a pledge to remember them in prayer. Ellen and I came to understand this deep bond in a new way during our home assignment in 2007. We felt embraced by loving congregations, anointed by prayer and encouraged by a deep love and commitment that truly filled us with thankfulness and joy. We returned to the U.S. very tired and needy, but many of you stepped in and became God’s arms of healing and encouragement. We have just returned to Japan and feel

Jay & Ellen Haworth Vol. 15 No. 1 March 15, 2007

The River City Connection

One of our Japan Covenant Churches, International Bible Fellowship, will send a group of 20 young people on a mission trip to the River City Church in Lewiston, Idaho from March 23 to April 3. While in Lewiston our Japanese young people will experience life in a Christian home and participate in a variety of outreach programs designed to introduce them to Jesus Christ. This trip follows a short term mission’s trip last summer where the River City Church sent a team of 30 people to minister among our Japanese Covenant churches. They prepared testimonies, skits, special music and dance as a means of sharing their faith here in Japan. These two home stay exchanges give a glimpseof River City Church’s long term
