Albania Team 2004 -- Fifth Report
13 Oct. 2004 Hello all. Started off going to CCL where I led devotions. I taught; Eli translated. I think she repeated what I said. We left Chas at CCL to work on computers and other things beyond most people's understanding. David taught his PowerPoint class to the CCL students again. The work they are doing for the school and the students is most appreciated. The technical skill these two provide is making a huge difference. After lunch Fatmir drove Eli and me two hours to the southern town of Peqin. We arrived in town, and we were met by the pastor who took us to their children's ministry building. I thought I was going to be teaching college age students. It turned out to be junior high and high school students. So while the kids sang worship songs, I thought out what I was going to say. I ended up telling these kids---40 of them...wonderful, enthusiastic, kids--about how I became a Christian, and then talked about the parable of the sower (Mark 4). For those of you in the know, that was lesson one in Confirmation each year...so it is true Confirmation continues to come in handy...for all of us...teacher and students. My talk (again translated by Eli) was well received. It was a whole lot of fun. We drove another two hours back to Tirana...picked up Chas and Dave, and found Desi...who always seems to be around at meal times!...and had a great dinner at a beautiful home converted into a restaurant called Glorias. Another day has ended...the time is going by so fast....but it is amazing. Thanks for your continued prayers on our behalf. Thanks for being a part of this venture. I am not able to express to you the joy and sense of expectation I have for the church in Albania. On behalf of the team, Kurt Fredrickson |
