Mexico 2008
Mexico ProjectDear Church Family. I want to report to you about our mission trip to Mexico this week.
As you may already know we have three areas of missions emphasis, in addition to the support we provide for Covenant World Missions. Our Mexico mission is a partnership with Nueva Esperanza and the work they do through contacts with Pastor Roberto Ghione. Pastor Roberto has developed a relationship with Misael, a Covenant church planter who has established a church called Sol Justicia.
This church is among the very poor in a sub-urban area in the hills east of Rosarito Beach Mexico. It serves a small community and is reaching out to the surrounding areas as well.
On Saturday May 17th eight members of Nueva Esperanza and five members of Simi Covenant drove to Rosarito Beach with a van and trailer loaded with shoes donated by a shoe store that was closing its doors, food packages and clothing gathered by Nueva Esperanza.
We had a wonderful trip and a wonderful time sharing the Good News of Jesus with these wonderful people. In addition we fitted and gave away more than 180 pairs of shoes. We also were able to leave food packs for some of the most needy of the area and left clothing that Pastor Misael and his wife will use to help those in the most need.
While the shoes, clothing and food are much needed and appreciated, the love of Jesus shared is the gift of lasting value. What a wonderful work God is doing through his servant Misael and what a wonderful privilege it is to share, even if only a very little, with him.
Thank you Simi Covenant for your support of the missions outreach we are making in Mexico. God Bless |
