"Joy 2009! A Baby Changes Everything" - Our Gift to the Community


Can you believe it's that time already? Christmas is right around the corner! And like every Yuletide season here at Simi Covenant, Jesus is the Reason for the season, and we're pulling out all the stops once again.

Our wonderful worship arts presents Joy 2009! A Baby Changes Everthing. Three shows so make sure to invite all your friends and neighbors to the best show in town. Admission is free to all. Child care for 3yrs and under on Friday & Saturday.

Neighborhood Christmas Caroling
Come join us Wednesday, December 16th at 6:00 pm as we go caroling in the neighborhood around church, then return for hot chocolate and goodies. Bring your family, your friends, and a plate of cookies to share

On Sunday (Dec. 20th) at 6:00 PM, we transform the Worship Center by putting our band in the middle of the room and the pews in the round, as we meet for our annual Christmas Carol Sing-along. Another great Simi Cov tradition, we sing everything from "My Two Front Teeth" to the very reverent carols celebrating the birth of our Messiah. It's one of those events that's just so great it's hard to describe. Again, show up early, and be a part of our great church community.

Finally, join us for one of our three Christmas Eve services for a time of reflection, worship, and communion, as we dwell on the goodness of our God, who sent his only Son. We join the shepherds and wise men by singing with our voices and hearts, "O Come Let Us Adore Him." Candlelight services are at 4:30 PM, 6:00 PM, and the ever popular 11:00 PM. Nursery for those 2 and under provided at the 4:30 and 6:00 pm services.

As we enter in to this sometimes hectic season, let's all remember that our God is worthy of our highest praise and our greatest efforts, because He gave us the greatest gift of all: the gift of eternal life through that tiny Babe, Christ the Lord! Merry Christmas!

E-SCRIP For the Pre-School.

Have you signed up for e-Scrip? This is the easiest way to fund raise, both for us and for you. It costs nothing, and it’s very easy to sign up. We will even do it for you! Just provide us with your Von's or Albertson's card number, address, and phone number, and we will do the rest! You can even register your debit or credit cards or register family and friends from out of state. Check the website (www.escrip.com) or with Beth in the preschool office (527-6011) for more information. Thank you to everybody who has signed up already. If you don't think this works, consider this: We get on average $1,000.00 a month from shoppers who have designated us as their E-Scrip recipient! 100% of this money goes into our fund for the new play yard.

Compassion Ministries

Simi Covenant is committed to showing the love of Jesus Christ by helping those in real need. We have a food pantry open to all in need, we are part of a community dinner program for the homeless in our city, as well as PADS (Public Action Delivering Shelter)- the emergency homeless shelter open during the winter months.

- We ALWAYS need donations for our food pantry, as well as people who can help organize it.

- We are responsible for dinner the third and fifth Sunday of the month, this includes providing and serving dinner for approximately 40 people, we need people who are willing to provide food (cook), people to serve, or both.
